□ Name: Allison Argent
□ Journal:
compounding
□ Series: Teen Wolf
□ Canon point: 3x23, after being fatally attacked by the Oni.
□ History: Here.
□ Personality:
Allison wants to be strong and have purpose. This is the core mantra in her personality. She hates feeling weak, feeling lied to, or feeling used - and all three points are things that her family or her first boyfriend cause her to feel. Because of this she’s intensely curious and pokes her nose where it often should not belong, as well as giving her a high suspicion of - well, everyone. If she can’t trust her family or her boyfriend, or her friends, then she feels isolated, and when she’s isolated she’s purposeless.
Kate’s telling her of the family secret is a step in what she feels is the right direction - giving her a purpose. To find out that Kate was lying to her, that Kate killed Derek’s family - it’s a hard thing for her. She almost doesn’t believe it especially given that Peter Hale had claws to her aunt’s throat. Losing Kate to Peter is something that blurs her sense of black and white morality - werewolves are bad, hunters are good. Only her boyfriend is a werewolf, and had been trying to protect her. At the same time, he’d been lying to her, and Kate was honest. The fact that she sees and understands both sides makes her not want to “choose” a side, so to speak.
In her ongoing effort to be strong and have purpose, she tries to be responsible for things and save people she views as weak - tries to control situations where she has no control. In essence she tries to play both sides in season two, of hunter and werewolf sympathizer, and every time she fails - fails to protect Lydia, fails to protect Jackson, or people who were carrying children, she gets a little more manic and loses a little part of herself in the process. She wants to be strong enough to protect the people she cares about - people like Lydia and Scott.
Her mother’s death causes her to question everything she knows. Because she’s told Derek is responsible, she wonders if werewolves can really be good, or if they’re always really rabid, something Kate said they always were. She forgets where the line is, if there ever was one - and in part, its her relationship with Scott that keeps her from going completely to the Hunter side. Even while stating she wants Derek dead she’s unable to say that Scott should die - though as a hunter she should want him to be. The other factor is her father - someone who’s aware of the responsibility she will shoulder and tries to help her with it, making up for some of the distrust she’s had with him in the past.
She struggles a little bit with the fact that the world isn’t as black and white as she wants it to be, after her mother’s death. There’s no good side and bad side, although she tries to believe there is one after her mother dies. After her grandfather betrays her, it’s just another reminder that there’s no clear line in the sand, and that pretending there is one is dangerous. Her eyes are reopened to that fact. It’s easy to pretend that there’s a good and bad side - but Allison is done with pretending and ready to start dealing and proving herself.
Her father takes her to France, for three months - during which she trains further in becoming a hunter, although her father claims to be leaving supernatural troubles aside when they return to Beacon Hills. Allison has had time to cope with the loss of her mother because of this. Initially still distrustful of people like Derek and Isaac, she learns that her mother was trying to harm them - which leads to her starting to try and trust Scott’s friends, especially after she finds Erica’s dead body. In plain statements, shit gets real again.
Fighting the Darach is a critical point - Allison relies on the things her mother and father taught her to stay calm at all times. She tries to be strong, because Argent women must be strong - even while being upset and overwhelmed.
She comes close to losing Scott again because of the Alpha pack - and her father, because of the Darach as well. She ends up becoming closer to Isaac, starting to move on from Scott even while she still has some feelings for him. Though she wasn’t close to Derek’s pack, losing Boyd obviously strikes her hard - the knowledge that they are fighting against such strong enemies just makes her more determined to protect the people she has left.
When the Darach, also her English teacher Jennifer Blake, kidnaps her father, Scott’s mother, and Stiles’ father as sacrifices, she does the only thing she can do in the situation - offers herself up as a sacrifice in place of her father. This results in having a “permanent ring of darkness” around her heart, and Isaac is an anchor to the real world during the time she ‘drowns’ herself.
This darkness plagues her after the Darach is killed and the Alpha pack destroyed; she has nightmares of becoming even more like her Aunt, of killing Isaac, and almost killing Lydia, her best friend, during a hallucination.
It turns out this is because of the Nogitsune, a creature they released from the Nemeton. Allison’s development here is critical - she is shown making the tough decisions, staying firm in her decisions to help without harming others - even going so far as to sabotage her father’s gun when they go hunting her best friend Stiles, when he becomes possessed. When Stiles’ father finally finds out what is going on, he tells her that he admires her bravery - to which she admits that she ‘never knows what to do’, but it seems that she is following her gut and her heart in many situations like this.
She is very protective of her friends, of Lydia - of Scott’s new girlfriend Kira. Allison still cares for Scott, but like she was moving on, she does not begrudge Scott moving on as well.
However, despite being a strong, fully-fledged hunter, she is killed in action fighting the Oni and the Nogitsune. She figures out how to kill them using silver arrowheads - but is immediately stabbed for her success, and dies in Scott’s arms.
Also, once she remembers her previous time in Ariel, Allison is more accepting of the fact that she dies - knowing that she protected her best friend successfully makes her more willing to integrate into Ariel, though she does not entirely love the city, and has previously participated in rebelling against it (but was not caught).
□ Age: 17 (she has her 17th birthday in the show)
□ Gender: Female.
□ Appearance: Allison stands about 5’8, and is shown as fairly thin. She’s light skinned with shoulder-length dark brown and blonde highlighted hair, and dark hazel eyes. She has no “standard” outfit but seems to favor leggings (by themselves or paired with skirts or dresses) and shirts or dresses with patterns on them. She either curls her hair, braids it back, or puts it up in a bun. In Ariel: Allison has pierced nipples, and a tattoo. On her right arm, she has two thin black bands (similar to Scott McCall's double bands, but thinner). Below both, there is a thicker single band, colored a bright golden orange. The tattoos signify both her canon relationship with Scott and her Ariel relationship with Davesprite, neither of whom are currently in the city.
□ Abilities/Powers: Allison is human, but she is the daughter of a hunter family. Therefore, while she lacks supernatural powers, she does have the skills to defend herself (shown when she flips an aggressor to the ground, or takes down men twice her size, or werewolves) as well as knowledge of hand to hand combat with knives - chinese ring daggers being her preferred weapon, though she is able to capably use a katana as well. Her main skill-set lies in her ability to use bows, both recurve and crossbow. She’s shown to be a capable and fairly accurate shot.
□ Personal Items:
1. A modern recurve bow, no arrows.
2. A leather jacket (seen in 1x10)
3. This outfit (specifically the shirt and skirt combo).
4. The outfit seen in 3x23 (white dress, olive jacket)
5. This outfit (dress, belt, and spiderweb leggings).
6. Knee-high boots.
7. Sneakers.
8. A thumb drive containing a digital copy of the Argent bestiary (in archaic latin and currently untranslated save for the article on the Kanima.)
9. A picture of her mother, father and herself.
10. Leggings.
